Current status of trialComplete
Main research questionHow does interferon (Wellferon) compare with chemotherapy and autografting followed by Interferon (Wellferon) in patients with newly diagnosed chronic phase chronic myeloid leukaemia
Design/methodologyThe aim of the trial is to attempt to improve on the best current therapy in chronic phase CML for those patients who do not undergo allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. The two arms of the trial will therefore compare interferon alpha (IFN) maintenance therapy alone against a cycle of high dose chemotherapy followed by an autograft and then IFN maintenance therapy
Sample group descriptionData from both MRC and ECOG-recruited patients will be jointly analysed
