Study hypothesis
|
The aims of renal stone management are twofold: symptom control and maintenance of renal function. The trial is designed to evaluate the effects of management on the second of these two aims.
Does knowledge of relative renal function in acute renal colic patients improve outcome and can multi slice contrast enhanced computer tomography supply this information allowing a 'one stop' assessment?

Interventions
|
Comparative imaging study with a randomised controlled arm. The interventions being compared are:
1. The availability of a functional image (not information that urologists currently routinely request or use in the management of renal colic patients)
2. No available functional image, as per current practice.
